INSIDE THE BOOK

The Eclipse Moon: An Abstract Series began with a fascination that runs throughout DesignHer—the patterns and cycles that shape both the female body and the natural world. The moon became a familiar reflection of this idea: that change is not the absence of order, but part of a larger rhythm. Through long-exposure photography, an eclipse unfolds into unexpected patterns of light, movement and shadow, inviting us to consider the cycles within nature, the cycles within ourselves, and the deeper connections between them.

❋ Light

Long exposure transforms movement into visible traces, revealing patterns that cannot be seen in a single moment.

❋ Pattern

Lines, repetition and unexpected geometry reveal an underlying visual order within movement.

❋ Shadow

Darkness becomes part of the composition—giving form, depth and contrast to what emerges.

❋ Connection

Photographed beneath one shared moon, the series becomes a meditation on distance, presence and our connection to one another.

I. THE OBSERVATION

Where Light Meets Shadow

The Eclipse Moon begins with observation—a study of light and shadow as the moon moves across the sky. Through the camera, a familiar celestial event becomes an invitation to look closer, revealing details that might otherwise pass unnoticed.

II. THE TRANSFORMATION

Light Becomes Color

The Eclipse Moon moves beyond observation into interpretation. Through color and abstraction, familiar celestial forms take on unexpected dimensions. Each composition offers another way of seeing the same event—where photography becomes a translation of light, movement and perception.

III. THE REVELATION

Beyond the Visible

As the series reaches its final compositions, familiar forms begin to dissolve into light, shadow and negative space. Movement leaves its signature, color becomes atmosphere, and the moon emerges as both subject and symbol. What began as an observation of an eclipse becomes an exploration of the patterns that connect us to the natural world.
